January 4th, 2010: Happy New Year!

Hi everyone,

First of all, happy new year to all! I hope you had a great holiday season. It’s a time of year that’s really important for me; it marks a pause and a chance to rest, but also an occasion to spend time with the people we love. I’m often in training or competitions away from home and this time of year represents for me an opportunity to see my family and my friends. I hope you got to spend some quality time with your loved ones as well and got a chance to rest.

It’s now time to get back to training. I feel strong and in good shape. Competitions are also starting soon and I can’t wait.

But the Winter Olympics Games are also coming very soon. Truly a magic moment in the life of an athlete. I’m really looking forward to go to Vancouver to live the Olympic Games in a different way. I’m very proud of our athletes and will be there to cheer them on loud and clear. It will be quite an experience for me to have the chance to collaborate to the media consortium and to take advantage of it to cheer for our athletes! I understand how hard they have to work to get to the Games and they deserve all the success in the world. Go Canada Go!

Alex
