January 20, 2010: Savvymom.ca
Hello everyone,
I’m glad to see that aid for Haiti is being organized and that people are doing their part to help out. Everyone is doing what they can to make things move forward.
As for me, competition resumes next week. I’ll be heading to Etobicoke, in the City of Toronto, for the Winter Senior National Championships. I feel well both physically and mentally, and ready to perform.
As you all know, the Olympics are fast approaching. All the work we do as athletes is very important, but there’s another really important factor: the support we get from our family. Some parents of the McDonald’s 2010 Hopefuls have a blog on www.savvymom.ca. I find it really interesting to read about the parents’ perspective on the highs and lows of their child’s athletic career. My mother is one of the program’s ambassadors, along with Cindy Klassen’s mom, and she has her own blog. You can read her blog every week, along with those of other athletes’ parents like Mark Arendz and Deidra Dionne.
Only a few weeks to go till the Olympics: get ready to celebrate our Canadian athletes!
Alex
