July 21, 2008: Training camp in Sydney

Hi!

I am currently in Sydney, Australia with my synchronized diving partner Arturo Miranda and Marie-Ève Marleau. I am here for a pre-Olympics training camp to get used to the time zone and time difference between here and Montreal. When it is noon in Montreal, it’s 2:00 AM the next day here in Sydney: that is a 14-hour difference! And when it is noon in Montreal, it is midnight in Beijing.

We are here with our trainer Cesar Anderson for a week before heading to China. Once in China, I will move all my things into the Olympic Village not far from the Water Cube where all the swimming and diving events will take place. I will then head to Xi’an for a few days with the entire national diving team where we will finalize our preparations.

I am very happy to be here. It’s the final sprint before the Games and I am very excited. I have put a lot of effort in preparing for this and I feel ready and strong.

Thank you for all your good wishes and come back to visit my site frequently to follow the competitions in China.

Talk to you soon!

Alex
