Yesterday, I was in Vancouver for the launch of the 2010 McDonald's Hopefuls program The speedskater Cindy Klassen and I are the ambassadors of this program.

This program supports 26 winter athletes across Canada to help them achieve their dream of participating in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

And since the program also celebrates the importance of the efforts and commitment of the family in the athlete's career, I was there with my mother Christiane. My parents and my sister have been there for me since my first dives and are still encouraging and understanding me.

The McDonald's grant is a great way of giving these athletes' parents, who give generously of themselves, a little pat on the back to say thanks for all the years of unconditional support.

I am really proud to be the ambassadors of the 2010 Hopefuls and I congratulate all of the athletes… and their parents!
